Hello From Orlando: Golf in Orlando – Playing Links-style at the Royal St. Cloud – Unpretentious Golf at its best
To experience Golf real links-style, we found the Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, located in Saint-Cloud, about 25 minutes south of Orlando airport or the Disney area. The Royal St. Cloud Links greet you with a set of rolling fairways links style, punctuated by classic links bunkers that feature names such as Hell Entertainment, Devil and Pocket hoofprints. True to its heritage link, all the clubs in the bag will be used as the terrain is naturally varied.
Unlike with other Orlando golf courses, the Royal St. Cloud is free of any residential development and offers a pure golf experience. Features design of four sets of tees and blue tee offers a length of 7111 meters championship and a 74.6 rating, all on flawless fairways and greens soft Tifeagle.
His motto, as printed above the entrance to the club house is "Original Golf played here," and even the Royal St. Cloud characteristics original style golf at its best modest. I had the chance to talk to Bill Filson, Director of Golf since 2002 and co-owner of the facility.
Bill has a background advanced courses. He has personally gone to some of the top professionals in education and brings 12 years experience in education that included beginners to professionals on the PGA Tour. Bill has always been one of the best PGA Professional. The teachers Royal St. Cloud is completed by Dave Rummel who brings 17 years of valuable experience PGA Tour with him and agree with the "Tour" with students. Associate Professional, Doug Holloway, has 16 years of coaching experience.
At Royal St. Cloud Golf Links the commitment to teaching the game of golf commitment includes state of the art video equipment and even a tent for teaching weather. Lessons, clinics and programs are offered for every skill level and requirement. Bill explained that they run a very reasonable price clinics for children at $ 7.00 per clinic and the club has 120 members in their undergraduate program. Ladies can also learn the sport without embarrassment in a relaxed and comfortable. And with all family members to play free mini-club.
Bill prides himself on offering one of the largest values of golf in the Orlando area. For the period 2005-2006 season rates vary from $ 46 to $ 48 from November 1 to January 10 and 64 January from November to April 30, 2006. Special rates start time
are available after 11 pm or 12 pm respectively, 7 days / week. Bill went on saying that the rights to the Royal St. Cloud are always reasonable, and it does not exaggerate its course, but exceed the expectations of visitors.
In addition, it offers a very unique proposition: a 100% unconditional money back guarantee if you do not enjoy your gaming experience Clouds the Royal St. Lawrence. He said in almost three years since he has organized this course only 2 people ever asked for a refund, a phenomenal achievement, Considering that tens of thousands of rounds are played here every year.
A unique feature of the course is the stone-made hand is evident in four bridges found throughout the year which were handmade by a single brick by brick. Bill said that some of the bridges are still a bit crooked, just to give them more character. The most famous bridge of stone can be found on the hole 5 and the number of British visitors this golf course come here specifically for this unique function.
Bill explained that his golf course serves a market-based value that is composed local residents, the Snowbirds to escape the cold northern winters, and British golfers, a very loyal crowd who refer this facility to many of their friends home.
The Royal St. Cloud Golf Links has been ranked as one of the Top 5 Underrated Golf Courses in the Orlando area and they welcomed the years 2004 and 2005 British Junior Amateur. With its wide-open fairways the course looks deceptively simple, however, I knew very quickly the unique challenges offered by the Royal St. Cloud. Traditional Golf Links is played on the ground, unfortunately I still managed to find water several times, despite the generously open fairways.
The other feature I really appreciated a number of basins on the back nine of the course that played host to a variety of local wildlife and waterfowl. I particularly enjoyed watching a very rare specimen of wood stork stalking the edges of a pond for food, and a crane standing upright with stretched wings. The course had a feel very relaxed, friendly and relaxed for her and we enjoyed a delicious hot dog after our game on the beautiful patio outside the club as a way to cap a very nice golf experience on a beautiful day.
